The Digital Ready website includes a number of resources to assist Tasmanian businesses in building a strong online presence.  The program also offers Tasmanian businesses a free two-hour coaching session with an expert digital coach delivered remotely via Zoom or phone. Visitor Experience Training (VXT)

VXT is a purpose-built organisation that trains the hospitality and tourism workforce to deliver the Tasmanian experience. Courses are designed to enable participants to be job-ready and include skills such as bar operators, housekeeping, food and beverage service, and front-of-house training.

THA

The Tasmanian Hospitality Association (THA) has a range of resources to help support and build a strong hospitality industry.

THA also host a TAS Tourism and Hospitality Jobs website if you are looking for staff or a job for yourself.

Tasmanian Leaders

Tasmanian Leaders run a year-long leadership program for participants from a broad range of experiences, backgrounds and sectors.  i-Lead is a nine-week high-impact program with a blend of online and in-person learning.

TasTafe

TasTAFE offers a range of introductory courses and skills development courses across three campuses in Tasmania.

  • Certificates III in Tourism
  • Certificate III in Guiding
  • Advanced Diploma of Travel and Tourism Management

ATEC – Travel Trade Ready Training Program

ATEC operate a national trade training programme called Tourism Trade Ready. This online, interactive, self-directed course is intended for both new and existing tourism operators looking to learn how to work effectively with travel trade partners.

Brand Tasmania

Brand Tasmania’s role is to ensure the Tasmanian brand is strengthened locally, nationally and internationally, and is promoted as a key asset of the Tasmanian community. Brand Tasmania run a series of storytelling workshops to help tourism operators identify and share their story.

Tassie Tourism Ambassador Program

The Tassie Tourism Ambassador Program is a free course that has been created specifically for the Tasmanian tourism industry as a way to equip tourism and hospitality staff and interested locals with the skills to offer a great visitor experience and local knowledge to tell the story of the region.

University of Tasmania

University of Tasmania (UTAS) offers a series of online and in-person undergraduate, postgraduate and bachelor degrees, diplomas and certificates in tourism.

Austrade – Sustainable Tourism Toolkit

The Sustainable Tourism Toolkit provides businesses with:

  • a starting point to begin their sustainability journey
  • practical tips and ideas
  • links to useful information, training and accreditation programs.

A simplified online version of the Sustainable Tourism Toolkit has also been produced in partnership with business.gov.au.
